    Clinical Excellence
    •Acquire and maintain extensive knowledge of policies, procedures, related to the Med-Trans ground transport environment. 

    Transporting of patients and crew members 

    •Ground Operators will be expected to safely operate our fleet of ground ambulances using both normal traffic as well as emergent traffic. The operator is responsible for safely transporting crew and patient to/from the hospital as well as fixed-wing and rotor-wing aircraft. Operator will be expected to assist medical crew members in loading and unloading patients. Operators will perform daily ambulance inspections to ensure equipment is in excellent operating condition. Operators will be required to follow cleaning checklists after each mission to ensure the ambulance is clean and free of any infectious material. 
    •Acquire and maintain knowledge applicable to sections of the Federal Aviation Administration / Department of Transportation regulations.
    •Proficient in use of transport vehicle radios (WAVE App) and provide assistance to the crew members as an active participant in the Crew Resource Management process.
    •Active participant in public education programs and public relations functions as needed or required.
    •Maintains a culture of readiness, ensuring restocking of bags and transport vehicle, clean and operational equipment, while always demonstrating a safe approach to all environments.

    Quality, Credentialing and Regulatory Readiness
    •Completes all records and documents per Med-Trans policy which includes accurate documentation of the ground transport. 
    •Maintains licensure, certifications, immunizations, and educational requirements. 
    •Actively participates in quality management programs and ensures constant state of regulatory readiness.

    Initial and continuing education
    •Active participant demonstrating competency in all training, which may include advanced skills and procedures approved by Medical Director, protocol testing, case reviews, initial training for new medical equipment and/or procedures, clinical rotations or clinical simulations, and lecture deliveries. Maintains excellence in knowledge surrounding use of equipment and supplies associated with the program. 
    •Provides assistance in professional growth of new employees serving as a clinical coach or preceptor. 

    Human Resource Management
    •A professional image will be displayed while representing Med-Trans which will include a positive customer approach, professional and neat appearance, a cooperative / team oriented working relationships, effective and open communication, and utilization of the proper channels for dialogue.

    Shared Governance
    •Active participant in regular safety, education, quality, and outreach committee activity 
    •Active participant in quality, educational and patient follow-up activities.

    Expense Management
    •Helps initiate resolution for program goals as outline by leadership. 
    •Provides input on capital expenditure plans to support medical needs for the program. Displays excellent stewardship regarding OT, medical supplies, operational items, and completion of all transport / billing paperwork in a timely manner. 


    •Minimum current EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic certification
    •Current state driver’s license in good standing.
    •Current American Heart Association (AHA) BCLS
    •Must live within a 20 minute radius of the base in order to respond to incoming aircraft in a safe, timely manner.
    •Must be insurable 
    Additional Qualifications
    •1 year of previous 911 or transport experience (preferred)
    •BCLS Instructor (preferred)
    •EVOC or CEVO (Certification required prior to operating a MTC emergency vehicle. Employee will receive the training and must pass within 30 days in order to maintain employment). (preferred)
