  • Overview

    The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration of all AMGH benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, workers’ compensation, flexible spending, travel and accident plan, wellness plan and 401(k).  Provides technical and administrative support to AMGH subsidiaries HR Department regarding questions, benefit issues and technical questions.

    The Senior Benefits Specialist interfaces with the AMGH Employee Benefits Director and the various representatives from the benefits vendors in order to assist employees in utilizing their benefits.


    • Provides backup to AMGH Employee Benefits Director
    • Works with 401(k) provider, benefits and wellness consultants on development and distribution of communication materials for distribution to all companies
    • Monitors integration files and resolve discrepancies for benefit providers
    • Provides technical support to users of benefits systems
    • Reconciles and approves invoices for all benefit plans
    • Provides monthly analysis of benefits costs vs. plan, workers compensation trends, short-and long-term disability utilization trends for senior management
    • Serves as the primary benefits contact and liaison between AMGH company HR departments and insurance providers, to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee experience
    • Works with AMGH companies to administer the Company Biometric Screening Program to increase employee participation and improve overall biometric results year-over-year
    • Works effectively to ensure the plans run smoothly from the employee and Company perspective. Investigates discrepancies and provides information in non-routine situations
    • Monitors internal processes and proposes improvements to reduce costs/improve efficiencies
    • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for all aspects of benefits
    • Handles benefit inquiries and complaints to ensure quick and equitable resolution
    • Audits plans and HRIS system periodically for data integrity.
    • Develops and delivers annual open enrollment communications
    • Designs communication tools to enhance understanding of the Company’s benefits, including biometric requirements and related wellness initiatives
    • Develops and publishes company-wide benefits and benefits-related communications
    • Provides customer service support to employees and benefits vendors
    • Designs Workday and other system reports
    • Assists in the annual benefits budgeting process
    • Assists with due diligence for acquisitions
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred (will consider experience in lieu of degree)
    • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Word and PowerPoint
    • Advanced skills using Excel formulas, pivot tables and charts.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Minimum three years in benefit administration with at least one year experience working with an integrated data system
    • Experience using Workday HRIS system preferred
    • Strong analytical skills for financial analysis
    • Advanced knowledge of benefit plans technical and legal requirements including; medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), Non-Qualified retirement, and Workers Compensation required
    • CEBS and GBA certifications – completed preferred but will accept in progress.
